About Me

Dave West grew up as part of a military family, living throughout the United States and France before beginning his own journey of adventure and service. He spent six years in the United States Navy as a guided-missile systems technician, serving with both Mediterranean and Caribbean fleets — an experience that shaped his calm problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and lifelong love of travel.
After his military service, Dave settled in Denver and built a successful career with Mountain Bell, later known as US WEST. Over the years, he rose to the role of Project Director, leading major rollouts of emerging communication technologies and overseeing complex installations for large commercial developments throughout a 14-state western region of the United States. His career combined technology, leadership, and the ability to coordinate large-scale projects with precision and professionalism.
Then came retirement… or at least Dave’s version of retirement. After meeting Debbie, life quickly became filled with travel, adventure, and new opportunities. When Debbie discovered Costa Rica and the coastal paradise of Dominical in 2004, Dave joined her in creating and operating REMAX Costa del Sol Properties, helping build one of the pioneering real estate offices in Southern Costa Rica.
Dave and Debbie continue to embrace an active lifestyle filled with outdoor adventures, travel, and time between the places they call home — including Dominical, Colorado, and Alaska. Dave earned his degree from Regis University and completed post-graduate studies at University of Denver. He is the proud father of two daughters and grandfather of three granddaughters — and is still very much the “young guy” of the family.
